ESSEX PAGANS

SITTING DUCKS FOR LEADING CHURCH EVANGELISTS?

When will the clowns within paganism ever get the message?

(March 2003)

James  Hore of the East Anglian Daily Times recently reported that the Bishop of Chelmsford, who is leader of the Church of England in Essex, recently upset a group of pagans in Colchester who had arranged a gathering to celebrate the start of spring at the Shrub End Centre in the town.

The Right Reverend John Perry claimed that Pagan practices were contrary to the gospel of Jesus Christ and should be avoided by all Christian people. In a highly biased statement, he said: “People who dabble with the occult and pagan practices - from tarot readings and Ouija boards to witchcraft and magic - are exposing themselves to great danger."

He continued: “Many people have been drawn into the world of the 'New Age Pagans' feeling that it is an innocent spirituality based on respect for the earth and nature, whilst being unaware of the deep psychological damage which can be caused to individuals by some of the more sinister practices of pagan and Wiccan organisations.”

Several other Church leaders in this area have also supported the Bishop's hardliner, biblical-based stance against pagans and warned their trusting flocks about the 'evils' of Wicca and other forms of Neo-Paganism.

Well here once again is solid proof that the fundies can 'never' ever leave paganism alone. To the Church, in all its intolerant denominations, we are at least 'mistaken' in our spiritual beliefs or at worse in league with Satan. Furthermore, many Wiccans seem to be under the ridiculous  impression that the Church has simply 'mistaken' what pagans actually believe.

This falsehood is common yet based on clear ignorance. The Church leaders have a vested interest in being absolute 'experts' in pagans religions. The bishops perceive occultism to be a great anti-Christian evil which must be challenged and vilified at every given opportunity.  In order to do this they learn all they can about our rites, traditions, customs and beliefs.  They also gain great success and local insight  via permitting their minions to liaise with gormless pagans/Wiccans at interfaith moots.

These Church authorities  frequently know more about the Craft than many who actually practice it.

Please think about it for a moment! The earliest Christian missionaries  infiltrated pagan systems all over the world by stealth,  and cunning. They cleverly befriended the at first suspicious natives of these countries  and studied their heathen faiths then, when the time was right,  subverted these spiritual structures and substituted them for the new and exclusive  monotheistic credo which promised salvation and greater hope.

Most sensible occultists of course  realise that all Christian festivals/traditions are based on much earlier pagan feast days yet many fail to see that Xtian, anti-occultist doctrine is still alive and well and working against us every day of the week. Sadly, many callow pagans appear to think that they can somehow change nearly 2000 years of missionary directives by simply chumming up to evangelists at interfaith. This pie-in-the-sky fantasy  can never be the case. The Church has an ancient doctrinal mandate to preach the gospel of Christ Crucified as being the 'only' acceptable  way to the Godhead. To gain coverts via mission is their perceived holy quest and no amount of  wet-behind-the-ears pagan bleating about how we must link up to smiling  fundies at interfaith in order to gain brownie points in society will ever work.

On the contrary, naive witches/pagans  who get involved in such madness just give the evangelists 'exactly' what they want which is the opportunity to infiltrate our paths in order to gain a well-rehearsed platform towards future subterfuge and conversions or alternatively hit us with the usual anti-occultist suppression of our faiths as was clearly depicted this month by the Essex diocese.

Pagans certainly do not need Christian 'permission' to practice their faiths or be accepted in society so they should stop acting as if they do!

Following the Essex fiasco, a few local pagans were reported to have said that they just don't understand why the Church was so 'intolerant' and that their religion (paganism) was of no danger to others, etc.

Sadly,  the overtly defensive and raw comments from these Essex pagans proved that they have no knowledge whatsoever of the way in which the 'Missionary Machine' works and no knowledge regarding the ongoing fundie campaign to outlaw our faith systems.

Rather than letting these mouthy evangelists 'wrong foot' them they should have realised that they were being cleverly manipulated  into yet another pathetic role of disenfranchised appeasement. They should have been telling the press about the way in which Christianity has always historically opposed the human rights of other religious minorities; always sought to find satanic adversaries, even when none existed,  and always portrayed pagans as evil child or animal  abusers. They should have reminded them about the way in which the Satanic Ritual Abuse Myth (SRAM) was create by fanatical evangelists and how it destroyed so many innocent families and had cost the taxpayer in the UK alone over twenty million pounds. These Essex pushovers could have said many things which would have benefited pagans everywhere but of course were unable to do so due to being so radically out of touch with the current missionary threat.

This would have been an excellent opportunity to get the truth across but was sadly lost due to the usual wholesale pagan ignorance of the ongoing situation. Alas, this is a common event these days as many ingrates still fail to listen to the 'freely' given evidence put out by the anti-defamation groups.

PAGANS ARE STILL INCREDIBLY  ADVERTISING THE LARGEST CHRISTIAN MISSIONARY OUTREACH COURSE AVAILABLE TO HARVEST THE UNCHURCHED

For years PAN and  SAFF have been alerting pagans about the unbelievable stupidity and proven danger of liaising with Xtians at so-called Christo/pagan interfaith gatherings.

For our troubles, we have frequently been insulted, abused  and vilified by aggressive yet very  gullible New Agers and a sanctimonious vocal minority of unthinking Pagans/Wiccans who passionately believe that  we should all be swapping rosary beads and crucifixes for pagan pentacles at interfaith with these smiling vicars.

These blinkered C/P Interfaithing plastic pagans have branded us as being hateful and as bad as the fundies themselves for daring to expose this provable  white-light insanity. We have been called 'Militants, Pagan fundamentalists, Fanatics, Radicals, Dictators and much much worse for having the nerve to tell the truth.

Hostile pagans,  in jeopardy of their own untenable position,  have  even accused PAN of seeking to split paganism down the middle. To this laughable black propaganda we say:

We are not the ones  diluting the noble spirit of wild, earth-based paganism. It's  the new breed of clueless  C/P Interfaith Bunnies, who are letting in the Missionaries  by the back door, that are the 'real' threat to the Old religion! It is they who are permitting the highly motivated Evangelical Conversion  Machine easy access to young and unfledged pagan minds. These happy-clappy, all join together in love and light  darlings are  utterly 'blind' to the fact that fundamentalist Christianity has been manipulating other naive belief systems, via interfaith tactics, for centuries and all the evidence proves that nothing has changed in the slightest.

Pagan editors, website controllers and group leaders who fall for the sad old anti-SAFF and PAN propaganda are in fact a large part of this problem too. By opposing our voluntary efforts to enlighten others they simply keep their trusting memberships  firmly in the dark. This in turn assists the fundies in their quest for pagan souls.

Christian evangelists who join hands with pagans/occultists at interfaith moots are only interested in gaining new 'converts' for Christ  because this is 'exactly' what their bible tells them to do and is seen by them as being their Holy Duty.

Forget the tiny minority of chummy and supposedly 'liberal-minded' vicars that want to build interfaith 'bridges' because even they are finally accountable to the 'leading' clergy who are always driven by biblical, anti-occultist doctrine. If you think we are someway wrong or mistaken in this statement then please reread the first part of this article which quotes a prominent and highly respected  bishop from one of the largest Christian ecclesiastical authorities in England.

What is really amazing is that we have to constantly remind or educate other pagans about this ridiculous situation. some of them also appear to be quite educated yet they persistently gravitate towards the Church, its rules and its foundation for guidance and more notably social acceptance in society. On a psychological level this would seem to suggest that these pretend pagans have never  managed to escape the sheer thrall of their Christian (or other monotheistic) upbringing and look to the Church as a parental figurehead whose 'blessing' must be sought! There is also a certain 'masochistic' element to this situation as any sane individual knows in their heart that the Church will never permit paganism to flourish without firm opposition.

Sadly, the truth is often in the opposite and the holier-than-thou, white-lighters who get their sick little jollies by attacking  PAN, and who profess  to be doing such 'great' things for paganism by snuggling up to  these clever Xtian activists, are the ones who always get so abusive with us.

Naturally, gullible fools  will always attack others that expose their inherently pathetic inadequacy and blatant ignorance. They will always seek to defame or censor others that prove them to be wholly incapable of representing the best interests of paganism. In sort, we tell it like it is so they move hell and high water trying to silence us. Such is the common mentality of shaky pagan dictatorships that are founded on misinformation, falsehoods and fear.

Our site is crammed full of  sad examples of such pagan stupidity.  Furthermore, the foul-mouthed and threatening  tirades which we often get in our guestbook and via emails from these self-righteous little egos just goes to prove how accurate and noteworthy our predictions really are.

This latest Church-orientated  attack in Essex just goes to show where the 'real' concerns of the clergy  lie. PAN has constantly alerted others to the crystal clear fact that the leading theocratic regime in the Western world runs on a CONVERT or SUPPRESS basis.  History proves this sad fact so well too.

Now you have got to understand that this latest anti-occultist vituperation  against pagans was 'not' issued from the mouth of some lone radical Xtian activist but right from the 'Main Man' of the Church in Essex - its LEADER!

Rather interesting it is too that so much attention is now being given to this region when one recalls PAN's previous warning about how some dangerously naive pagans in 'Chelmsford', Essex were letting the fundies in via links to the all-powerful, missionary ALPHA COURSE - right on their own door step.

Can you believe it -  Pagans actually advertising a highly successful  missionary organisation on their website bulletin board? Moreover, an ex-president of the Pagan Federation  has his name plastered all over this site too. Are the PF now doing the work of these well-funded evangelists who 'self-admittedly' passionately desire to bring the Christian Gospel into young pagan hearts?

Please surf our page on this alarming situation:

Alpha Course & Chelmsford pagan Moot

We reiterate; what the Church cannot convert it will always oppose and the latest, almost comical, events in Essex are a great example of this sort of missionary activity which threatens neo-paganism today.

So in a nutshell, on one hand we have Essex pagans freely advertising the Alpha Course for missionaries and on the other, leading Church authorities seeking to disenfranchise us all, via commonplace defamatory  media misinformation and meeting very little (if any) feasible resistance from disgruntled yet incredibly naive Wiccans in the area.

Ignorance is not always bliss and it does have a certain price!

What will it take before the blind fools within paganism wake up from their  self - created current slumber?

We can only warn in good faith!

ENDS.

Disclaimer:

PAN realises that the vast majority of Christians are not fundamentalist or evangelical in make up and we only criticise religious extremists who seek to disenfranchise other faiths whilst bolstering their own. PAN does not in any way condone violence against any persons or property and we must state that we have always worked towards a more tolerant and equal society.
