PAN has recently received this email correspondence as reproduced with permission in its entirety below, from one ex - fundie Pastor Nathan Moyo who apparently had a serious change of world-view and made a U-turn on his previous Xtian fundamentalist religious convictions. This really does make a refreshing change from the usual sanctimonious claptrap we suffer on a weekly basis from the self-righteous ones who usually insist that they have the cartel on spiritual matters.

A message of
hope to all Christians from an ex-evangelist who found that he was so wrong
"Hello my good
friends
Yes I realise that you people, are what is known by most as committed Christian
believers and you truly consider that you are followers of the ‘only’ true faith
and I do see that you will not change your minds.
This is most common and understandable although ‘some’ people do actually manage
to release themselves from their existing restrictive way of seeing things. This
is true. You will I know follow a belief system which is quite domineering,
although you – like most others in your position - mange to wrap your concealed
human bigotry up very well in a coating of true Godly understanding and love.
Many of you will not even be aware of this fact and wrongly will think you are
following the path of true light and God’s great love yet all this goes to show
what a good job other committed believers have done on you. You are most fooled
and are living a mistake. I tell you this friend in the very best faith for you
and good wishes that as I was once inflicted with the very same mistaken
approach to religion that you currently live with, yes. I was once a faithful
evangelist spreading the word of the Lord to others who trusted me in truth yet
I have seen the mistake of my ways and cannot now anymore support such a belief
system which is clearly so flawed in many ways and I have to say very unsafe to
world peace creating wars and other awful things. My only shame now is from all
the days that I once sought to inflict Christianity on to the masses as you do
now. I was wrong very wrong and I hope that you come and like me too realise
that you are also promoting the same type of terrible religious intolerance that
I once believed was God’s holy and most sacred word! It is not – it is only man
made lies and cheating passed down from early times without any true proof
behind it. Do not my friends be deceived! I have discovered that many men of
learning now agree that the ‘Founder’ of your religious beliefs, yes Jesus
Christ, was nothing but a man-made, figure with no real proof from the books in
history and a result of first century makers of the most early myths. Yes of
course my friends I know that you THINK you can dispute this particular fact
with usual references to historical man like the Josephus, and rehashed writings
from the very much impure man-made scriptural and Gospel texts and other things
like this. With my previous tellings of my own story I would expect nothing LESS
from you ‘True Believers’ as devoted followers on a missionary battle to save
the world from mortal sin. Yes friends I have been at that place too, yet you
are sadly most wrong in your faith.
The Bible that you friend do follow can not be relied upon you see as any proven
thing of ‘God-given’ truths and it is full of misdeed and corruptible wordings
and is used as nothing more than a weapon to scold and run down others with who
are not the same in beliefs as you. This is not right and it took me a very long
time to see this uncomfortable thing but see it I did and for this I am most
glad today. This bible and gospels are man-made files which have been very much
altered since it was first dreamt up by early church supporters who were just
hunting out of greater personal power and glory. I would hope that one day some
of you may come to realise, like me, that your imperfect religious attitude is
quite what creates wars and conflict in this beautiful world of ours. This
cannot be right. I am clearly of the good opinion now that I had once been
indoctrinated – yes indoctrinated, into a ‘false religion’, a spiritual pathway
that by mistake preaches hate, intolerance and destruction instead of love and
tolerance to all. Have you also like me considered that you may also be the
victim of the biggest spiritual ‘fraud’ humanity has ever seen? I now know that
the truth is in the opposite of my first beliefs and that this I am an example
of for sure! Please consider this well as your own existence and your loving
family as well may be in jeopardy from this terrible faith error you are
currently suffering in your blissful ignorance.
I fully know that millions of everyday Christians are splendid and most
understating of the people that mainly have very little understanding of the
more narrow-minded tradition behind the faith that they may record on a census
record or even birth marriage certificates, yet my concern is only with you who
they term as the ‘Fundamentalists’ who preach with an iron fist which has no
true love and tolerance to be found in it. I do not have all the answers to
life, but I do firmly believe this day now that you are wrong and I speak from
my most true and personal experience from days I have spent supporting your
Christian church and its missionary religion. The Jesus scripture is not as they
tell you and it is I am sorry to say most untrue which will be as nothing more
than other fantasies. I tell you this in love and not hate as one who has
studied the bible for great deals of years. You, as I was, are the ones that
need ‘saving’ – not the others who you think you are sending to Christ’s love,
so please my good friends for the sake of your own understanding and mind with
spirit think clearly on the well-meant words of one who has been exactly where
you are now! Save yourselves and your friends and your family now! The light you
seek is taking you into only the terrible darkness of bigotry and very much
mistrust. Do not let this happen much more to your good self.
There is for sure a most lovely world out there and it’s NEVER too late to
change! I tell you in peace not to waste your selves on the cross of lies and
deceit.
