Sex crimes and the Vatican
Clergy Abuse reaches a new low!
Authoritarian - sanctioned 'protection' (right from the top) for pervert priests put before the welfare of innocent children - can this be true in a modern society?
PAN congratulates the BBC for the Panorama exposure - 'Sex crimes and the Vatican' that was broadcast on Sunday 1 October 2006.
This programme dealt with a secret Vatican document know as ‘Crimen
Sollicitationis’ which sets out a procedure for dealing with child sex
abuse scandals within the Catholic Church.
Crimen Sollicitationis was apparently enforced for 20 years by Cardinal Joseph
Ratzinger before he became the Pope. Ratzinger’s past incidentally
included membership of the Hitler Youth movement and wartime service with
a German army anti- aircraft unit.
The Catholic Church has 50 million children in its global assembly and no
general child protection policy although in the UK there is the Catholic Office
for the Protection of Children & Vulnerable Adults.

In light of this unbelievable exposure PAN asks:
Why have no
arrests of clergy involved in this fiasco been made over the conspiracy of
silence which the Church has defended so well?
Why have the innocent victims of paedophile priests been protected by the
highest Church office via this document with some even allegedly now residing in
the wall of the Vatican?
What actions will the secular authorities now take against the
Church – or is this
dictatorial religious establishment in some way 'above' the law and beyond
reproach?

Clergy abuse is however a multi-denominational problem and the following links explain this:

How amazing yet utterly disgusting it is to realise that whilst sanctimonious idiots in the sensationalistic press, police, social services and the establishment at large chased so-called Satanic abuse cases all this 'provable' clergy abuse (and related 'ecclesiastical' covering up) was going on behind closed doors. Panorama's exposure has apparently proven that children are NOT being properly safeguarded in the Church against the odious attentions of pervert priests so what comes next - when will the authorities stop crawling to powerful Church leaders (of all denominations) and commit themselves to a proper analysis structure and report over the terrible problem of clergy abuse?
How long do the children have to suffer before the brain-dead authorities wake up?
Disclaimer:
PAN realises that the vast majority of Christians are 'not' fundamentalist or
evangelical in make up and we only criticise religious extremists who seek to
disenfranchise other faiths whilst bolstering their own. PAN does not in any way
condone violence against any persons or property and we must state that we have
always worked towards a more tolerant and equal society.
